We had a lovely Christmas, we hope all our friends did too... The dogs enjoyed their Christmas and Boxing day dinners, turkey and trimmings both days!

I was thoroughly spoiled by my husband and children and I thought you would like to see 2 of my gifts...

Today I sent £255.00 to the Breast Care Cancer Charity. This money was raised for the wear it Pink campaign. Lots of our friends sent photo's of their dogs dressed in pink to help raise money for this very worthwhile cause. Photo's can be seen on the Wear it Pink page.

We had some great news today from Optigen. Quintavia Show Ya A Good Time, litter sister to Quintavia Show Stopper and Charbonnel Wildchild at Quintavia are Genetically Normal/ Clear!

We were showing today at the N E C in Birmingham. The Ladies Kennel Association is the last Championship of the year. Chelsea and I had a great time shopping and the dogs had a successful day in the ring. All three were placed, Betty and Stan were 2nd in their classes and Scarlet was 3 rd in a strong puppy class thus qualifying for Crufts 2006. Ringo's baby daughter Weyhill Cara Mellow was 4 th in a huge Minor Puppy class. She is a really sweet little pup who is so well made and she moves beautifully.

Heidi went to live in Derby today with Jenny. It was lovely to see Jenny again and her owners Hazel and Steve. Heidi and Jenny have always been good pals and we wish them many happy years together.

I had a lovely day today judging cockers for Gloucester and District Canine Society.
I had a lovely entry of 21 dogs with just 3 absentees. BOB was Charbonnel Promises Of Keladity a lovely black bitch and BPIB was Glasedin Groundsman a lovely blue baby boy who was 6 months old today. Both were well presented and moved really well.

We didn't go showing this weekend...we were entered but due to family commitments we were unable to attend.
Great news though about Ringo's kids!!
 
Powerscourt Power Of Love JW was BOB today and short listed for Best In Show, well done Lottie! A lovely bitch who is consistently placed.

Also Clavaire Checkmate was Best Puppy In Show at Mid Herts Gundog, aged just 6 months and 2 weeks!!
Jeff and Tracy are thrilled with the latest addition to their kennel, and we are pleased that Ringo continues to produce such lovely typey babies who win well in the ring. Milo is a striking dog and we look forward to his development with interest.

Today saw me and the team at Rotherham Cocker Championship Show. A lovely drive up north in Autumn sunshine. Scarlet was 2nd in her class, Stan was 5th in a very strong class and my little star Betty was first in her class!
Chloe made a trip out, her first for several months. She was unplaced in one of the strongest classes of the day but gave of her best and looked really well after her rest. Another quality cocker from Peggy.
 
We met Milo today (Quintavia Show Stopper X Avandora Heaven Scent To Clavaire) and what a cracker he is.
Quality through and through and such good true movement. A beautiful head, good bone and excellent strong rear quarters, deep well muscled thigh and good coat....What more could you ask for! He was 5th in MPD. Jeff and Tracy are really pleased with him....so am I !!

Off to Coventry today for Solid Cocker open show. Scarlet won her class and was Best Gold/ Red Puppy in show. Stan won his class, Betty had 2nd and Peggy was 3rd behind 2 Quality males....well done Peggy!

Today I received another cheque from Anne Gardner for £37.00 for the Wear it pink gallery. This brings the total Anne has raised to a fantastic £97.00!! Anne and her friends circulated posters at work and got lots of people involved to raise money for the Breast Cancer Campaign.  Thank You Anne for all your hard work...Thanks go to  everyone for sending your lovely photo's and your donations. Total raised so far is £218.00!!!

Today we went to North of England Cocker Spaniel Club Open Show. The judge was Christina Daniels from Sweden. It was nice to have a fresh pair of eyes go over our dogs. We were delighted with our new baby Scarlet ( Quintavia Wild Time ) who was Best Puppy in show! Stan won a nice class and Betty was also placed. Stan and Boo's mother Peggy was also placed, back in the ring 12 weeks after whelping a litter! What a star she is....a quality cocker with a fantastic temperament who has given me beautiful babies.
Chelsea was Best Junior handler, well done Chelsea!

Spoilt for choice!!!!!

Introducing Niebh and Willow, another 2 beautiful pups out of Peggy and sired by Charbonnel Roulette
a mating which seems to work so well for us. Peggy and Brian are both Optigen A1 so the pups are on a good footing there too! They are 12 weeks old now and I'm sure you can see why it is difficult to choose between the two!

Today we went to North Wales Cocker club open show. It was the clubs 75th anniversary and there were lots of specials on offer. The club also fed and watered all the exhibitors all day free of charge and provided cake and wine. Many thanks to the officers and committee for a lovely day.  Heidi, Scarlet and Betty all won their classes and Chelsea got 1st in Junior handling.

Driffield Champ show today. We did not go to the show but Scarlet's litter sister (Quintavia Wild Flower) got a 3rd in Puppy Bitch qualifying for Crufts 2006.

Today we had a visit from Quintavia Phoebe (Quintavia Quantum Leap X Charbonnel Romantic) and her owners Judith and David. We are very pleased with her development so far and happy to hear she is a right little show off at ring craft (just like her mother!) We look forward to seeing her in the ring towards the end of the year!

Today we went to Cheshire Cocker Spaniel Club Open show. All dogs were placed and Chelsea won her Junior Handling class and went on to win Best Junior Handler in Show.

After a break from the ring we ventured over to Newark today for an open show. Scarlet (Quintavia Wildtime) was Best Puppy in Breed! We were delighted as the puppy class drew a very good quality entry. Betty and Alice both had 3rd. Many thanks to the judge Isobelle Hinchliffe.

Quintavia Quantum Physics left home today to live with his new family in Guernsey. " Parsley " is Helen's first show dog and we wish them both well. Parsley is on the left, to the right is Dessie and her new Shenmore pup.

Not much news to report as we have been enjoying a break from the show ring due to School holidays and puppy minding!! Peggy's latest puppies are looking good.....Show Stopper has again sired another quality litter of puppies.....2 puppies have been retained for the show ring, one at Powerscourt & one at another show kennel...we look forward to their development with interest.

We had great news today.....Stan has sired his first Black and Tan puppy!! Stan now sires Gold, Black and Black and Tan.

Today Chelsea took part in the Cancer Research Race for Life. She completed the course in 42 minutes! Well done Chelsea and to all who took part. Here is a photo, Chelsea is on the far right.

We were showing on Saturday 25 June at Blackpool Championship Show. Darcy made his show debut in Minor Puppy, he was unplaced but behaved impeccably! not bad for 6 months and 4 days. He moved around the ring confidently and happily so who could ask for more from a baby. 
 
Stan showed beautifully as was placed 3rd in Open dog. This means Stan will be awarded a stud book number....Well done lad!

 
No more shows for us for a few weeks. We will all have a well earned rest before the Cocker Spaniel Club Championship Show 17 June.
 
Chelsea is taking part in the Race for Life on July 24 so she will use this time to fit in some more training. Check out her Race for Life Page, and come back here for photo's of the day.
